As many as one-third of working Americans do not earn enough money to meet their basic needs. Wages have not kept pace with the rising costs of food, housing, healthcare and education, and many families struggle to just get by.

Outcome Training Sessions

United Way of Washington County periodically sponsors Outcome Training Workshops. These learning sessions are meant to help local nonprofits improve their goal-setting, tracking, and reporting in order to better understand and communicate their program impact. United Way created the Clifford A. & Elizabeth M. Nelson Volunteer Leadership Award to honor an individual in Washington County who has demonstrated a long-term commitment to volunteering. The award is named in honor of West Bend resident Cliff and his wife Betty, known for their outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of human service, civic, and arts organizations.

United Way of Washington County funds programs that provide health and human services to Washington County residents. Eligible programs must be able to demonstrate positive, measurable outcomes.

The United Way of Washington County Hartford Resource Center connects Hartford-area residents with information and referrals to nonprofit and government service programs. The space is shared with the Hartford H.E.L.P. Corner, Washington County ADRC and WIC.
