United Way of Washington County periodically sponsors Outcome Training Workshops. These learning sessions are meant to help local nonprofits improve their goal-setting, tracking, and reporting in order to better understand and communicate their program impact. United Way created the Clifford A. & Elizabeth M. Nelson Volunteer Leadership Award to honor an individual in Washington County who has demonstrated a long-term commitment to volunteering. The award is named in honor of West Bend resident Cliff and his wife Betty, known for their outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of human service, civic, and arts organizations.
United Way of Washington County funds programs that provide health and human services to Washington County residents. Eligible programs must be able to demonstrate positive, measurable outcomes. Programs seeking United Way funding must work towards the advancement of identified Community Goals and Focus Areas under three Impact Pillars: Financial Stability, Education and Health.
The United Way of Washington County Hartford Resource Center connects Hartford-area residents with information and referrals to nonprofit and government service programs. The space is shared with the Hartford H.E.L.P. Corner, Washington County ADRC and WIC.
United Way of Washington County recognizes individuals who make an annual gift of $1,500 or more as Leadership givers. It takes a special type of person to give at the Leadership Level … someone who truly cares about philanthropy and charitable causes. Someone who's deeply committed to creating a stronger community for the benefit of all. Leadership givers are a vibrant and active force in helping United Way of Washington County create positive, lasting changes in our community.
