The United Way of Washington County currently is hiring for the following positions:


POSITION TITLE: Community Engagement Manager (Full-time)

ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Executive Director



Provide management of resource development activities: annual $1.7M+ fundraising campaign, year-round relationship development, and engagement activities. Ability to establish donor relationships with individuals and organizations. Successful candidate will understand donor-centric relations, be customer service oriented, be a team player and have strong organizational skills. Will work with other United Way staff to set priorities, coordinate activities, work with campaign chairs and overcome barriers to success.

Candidate must value United Way mission and vision and will participate in promoting United Way in the community.


Community and Donor Engagement:

  • Assist in developing and manage campaign plan and timetables aligned to organizational goals

  • Track fundraising, donor activity, prospect development, and drive year-round engagement

  • Develop, plan, and execute community impact volunteer projects (i.e. Born Learning Trails) and company specific events

  • Support recruitment for: board, campaign cabinet, and community impact panels

  • Manage Emerging Leaders affinity group

  • Actively plan and participate in community events supporting donor acquisition and retention

  • Recruit, train, and steward relationships with a volunteer Campaign Cabinet of 15 members

  • Solicit and cultivate corporate and individual donors and prospects

  • Plan and facilitate donor engagement events


Corporate Campaign Management:

  • Develop and implement custom campaign plans with company contacts

  • Organize and facilitate annual trainings and events for company coordinators

  • Manage pacesetter program (i.e. assist with recruitment, nurture, and provide timely communications)

  • Organize and distribute customized campaign supplies and pickup for completed campaigns

  • Provide outstanding customer service in support of all company campaign efforts

  • Build relationships with company coordinators through regular communications/support needs

  • Facilitate agency presentations at company and community campaign meetings

  • Manage awards program

  • Evaluate campaign performance metrics


Campaign/General Support:

  • Provide support to the Campaign Chair team in coordination with Executive Director

  • Coordinate campaign collateral with marketing and communications representative

  • Assist with media interviews and campaign related web and social media content

  • Coordinate campaign incentives (i.e. car give-a-way - manage display throughout county)

  • Manage and update database of current and prospect donors - oversee data hygiene efforts

  • Ensure appropriate reporting and database records to complete United Way Worldwide reports

  • Other duties as assigned
