UNITED WAY HONORED AT DOUG JOHNSON'S RETIREMENT

At a retirement party held for Doug Johnson, Washington County Administrative Coordinator, Doug presented United Way of Washington County with a gift of $1,200.  “We are overwhelmed with Doug’s decision to ask that, in lieu of retirement gifts, donations be made to United Way,” exclaimed Kristin Brandner, United Way Executive Director.  “The amount of this gift demonstrates the high esteem Doug is held in by is co-workers, the County Board and his friends.”

Formerly a director of a mental health program in south central Wisconsin, Doug began working for Washington County government 33 years ago as the Director of CCSA.  He then advanced to the position of Administrative Coordinator for the County, working closely with all department heads and the County Board.  Doug currently is in his fourth year on the United Way Board.

“As a United Way Board member, Doug is aware of the going need for services in Washington County,” continued Brandner.  “For example, in November our food pantry served over 600 families a month as compared to 500 last year; services to homeless families and individuals are up 5% over last year.  Doug’s generosity will help those and other Washington County citizens experiencing difficulties this holiday season.”
