COMMUNITY LEADERS WORK TO REACH LOCAL UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN GOAL

The United Way annual campaign runs now through December 31, 2013. Donations raised by this year’s United Way of Washington County’s campaign will be used to fund 33 programs offered by 22 United Way partner agencies and fund new root cause initiatives.

“If United Way is to successfully raise $1,350,000 during this year’s campaign, it will take a committed, talented pool of volunteers willing to give not only their money but their time,” stated Kris O’Meara, co-chair of the 2013 United Way Campaign along with her husband Dr. Mark O’Meara.  “We are fortunate again this year to have community leaders who have stepped forward to help raise the funds needed to address critical health and human service needs within our county. Division Leaders and Account Executives are the driving force behind a successful United Way campaign as they manage and solicit corporate and individual donations throughout Washington County.”

Last year the United Way surpassed its campaign goal of $1,200,000 because of the generous support of Washington County residents and businesses,” stated Mark O’Meara. “This year the needs have grown greatly in our county and it is only with the support of our donors and new donors that we can continue to address vital needs within our community. “
