GOVERNOR WALKER DESIGNATES UNITED WAY MONTHS

In honor of the start of the annual United Way campaign, Governor Scott Walker recently designated September and October as United Way Months throughout the state.

The governor’s proclamation highlights United Way’s work to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks for a quality life: Education, Income, and Health. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people have good health. It takes everyone in the community—individuals, businesses, and organizations—to supply the passion, expertise, and resources needed to create lasting change.

Last year, the United Way of Washington County raised $1,234,016, which provided funding to 21 local agencies. This year, the fundraising goal has been raised to $1,300,000. Washington County residents are urged to Give, Advocate, and Volunteer so that everyone has a good quality of life.
