Bev

Imagine being surrounded by a strong network of friends and family for more than 80 years, only to have it all disappear. That's what happened to Bev.

Bev’s son felt uneasy about his mom living alone, so she moved to West Bend to live with him and his wife, Jackie. Bev was excited to be living with her son and daughter-in-law, but she didn’t have any friends nearby and she was sad about selling her home.

“I felt lost and depressed. I didn’t know what to do," Bev said.

Jon and Jackie realized the change in their mother, and recommended she start visiting the Senior Center, which is supported by United Way.

Bev quickly made new friendships and became an avid volunteer. She was elected to the organization's Advisory Committee and she's planning an event for other seniors in West Bend and the surrounding communities.

Bev says she would be a “depressed and lonesome person” if this program did not exist. Thank you for changing Bev's life!
