UNITED WAY TO CELEBRATE 80th ANNIVERSARY

United Way of Washington County is celebrating 80 years of improving lives and community conditions.

During this anniversary year, the organization plans to feature stories about local residents who’ve been involved with and/or benefitted from United Way programs. Right now, they are asking individuals and families to submit stories and memories for inclusion in their online Legacy Library.

“United Way is all about bringing people together to improve lives in lasting ways,” said Lisa Jensen, Marketing Communications Manager. “Our Legacy Library will shine a spotlight on all of the kids, parents, and families whose lives have been touched by United Way programs over the years.”

United Way of Washington County supports local nonprofit programs that improve lives through Education, Income Stability, and Health. Some of their long-standing partners include: American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County, The Threshold, and Elevate (formerly Nova and the Council on Alcohol and other Drug Abuse).

In addition to clients and beneficiaries, United Way is also looking to recognize donors and volunteers.

“Over the last 80 years, our local United Way has been supported by countless individuals, businesses, and organizations,” said Kristin Brandner, Executive Director. “We want to honor and recognize all those who have so generously given, advocated, and volunteered for their neighbors in Washington County. I urge anyone who has supported United Way to contact us so we can share your story!”
