PACESETTERS GIVE CAMPAIGN A STRONG START

United Way’s Pacesetter campaigns are now ended and early results show positive growth. Pacesetters are organizations that started early fundraising and awareness campaigns to support the community through United Way of Washington County.

“By volunteering to be Pacesetters, these organizations demonstrated commitment to corporate philanthropy and care for our community,” said Kristin Brandner, Executive Director of United Way of Washington County. “As we celebrate 80 years of local impact, there’s a lot of excitement and momentum building.”

Each Pacesetter organization set their own goal for increasing participation or dollars raised.

R & R Insurance Services has just 12 employees at their West Bend office, yet they raised more than $17,000 for United Way. Students and staff at Moraine Park Technical College held a variety of unique fundraisers to increase giving by 23%. Glacier Hills Credit Union, Maysteel, Robert W. Baird, Affiliated Clinical Services, and Richfield School District also came in with impressive campaign growth.

“Workplace campaigns give employees a chance to rally together for the betterment of their community and they really embrace it,” said Diana Swillinger, Community Engagement Manager. “From bake sales to payroll deduction pledges and volunteering to fundraisers, the passion and efforts of these generous teams come together to make real impact in the lives of neighbors and friends. It’s an inspiration and an honor to have them on our team.”

During their annual fundraising campaign, United Way of Washington County encourages everyone in the community to Give, Advocate, and Volunteer. The funds raised during the campaign support United Way’s mission to improve lives and community conditions.

United Way works year-round, creating a team of local residents, government, businesses, and nonprofits that address the community’s top needs. Together, they are fighting for children’s success in school, the prevention of drug and alcohol addiction, and they’re empowering families to become financially stable and self-sufficient.

This summer, community volunteers selected three new programs that will receive United Way funding starting next year. They are: Dream to Succeed, Casa Guadalupe Education Center; Literacy Initiative, 4C Family Center of Washington County; and Nature-Based 4K, Kettle Moraine YMCA. United Way is able to support these programs because of the community’s generous support.

This year, United Way of Washington County is offering several giving incentives. Individuals that donate $1 a week ($52 or more) are automatically entered into a drawing to win a vacation of their choice through Shooting Star Travel. Individuals that donate $2 a week ($104 or more) are automatically entered into a drawing to win a new Scion iA sponsored by Russ Darrow Group and Legendary Whitetails. To qualify for these giving incentives, donations must be received by December 15.

Additionally, individual and corporate donors who increase their Leadership Level Gift ($1,000 or more) will have their donation matched dollar-for-dollar by West Bend Mutual Insurance Company.
